Lot of HPV Vaccine Gardasil® Recalled

A recall has been announced by the manufacturing company of Gardasil®.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on December 16, 2013 the company Merck started to contact their customers (doctors’ offices and clinics) that received a lot of vials that contained glass particles.

The HPV vaccine was distributed between August 20, 2013 and October 9, 2013.

Gardasil® is an FDA approved HPV vaccination that is generally recommended for all preteen girls and boys starting at age 11 or 12.
