Hip Implant Recalled?

Our Stryker Hip Implant Attorneys Discuss Your Options

Hip replacement surgery is a serious medical procedure. Patients with a hip implant can usually expect the device to last for more than ten years and possibly as long as two decades. However, individuals who receive a defective hip implant such as the Stryker Rejuvenate or Stryker AGB II may need to undergo one or several revision surgeries within the first few years of the initial procedure. These defective device revision surgeries carry a high risk for complications because of the damaging Stryker hip implant side effects that worsened the bone quality and overall health of the surrounding tissue.

Stryker Corporation Issues Voluntary Recall on July 6, 2012

The Stryker Corporation issued a voluntary recall of the defective Rejuvenate and AGB II hip devices in July 2012 because of these serious side effects and other reasons. However, patients who were recipients of the roughly 20,000 Stryker Rejuvenate and AGB II implants sold prior to this recall are still in danger.

Our Stryker hip implant attorneys are knowledgeable regarding these and other potentially defective medical devices or dangerous drugs. Talk with us today for answers to any legal questions you may have, and to see if you are able to enter a Stryker hip implant lawsuit.

What Did Stryker Say Regarding the Voluntary Recall?

On the manufacturer’s website, Stryker states:

“…we decided to voluntarily recall [the Rejuvenate and ABG II] modular-neck hip systems due to the potential for fretting and corrosion at the modular-neck junction which may result in ALTR (adverse local tissue reactions), as well as possible pain and/or swelling at or around the hip.”

If this recall has negatively impacted you or if you are unsure as to whether you received one of these recalled hip implants, our firm is here to discuss your legal options. We can also advise you on the next steps you need to take in order to move forward from this stressful situation.
