Zoll & Kranz has been investigating the connection with taking Depakote while pregnant and children being diagnosed with cognitive disorders, such as autism.
Most recently, a Danish study found that mothers who took the drug during pregnancy were five times more likely to give birth to a child with autism.
According to AustismDailyNewsCast.com, the study tracked over 665,000 children from 1996 to 2006, of which, 5,500 were diagnosed with autism.
Of those who were born with autism, 508 were born to mothers who took valproate drugs.
