Loved One Died After Taking Pradaxa? Penn. Widow Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit
According to the Pennsylvania Record, the widow of a man who died from renal failure and hemorrhaging has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals over the drug Pradaxa.
The news source reported that Nancy L. Standish is suing the pharmaceutical company over the death of her husband, James Standish, Jr., who died in 2012 after suffering a bilateral cerebellar and left frontal subarachnoid and intraparenchymal hemorrhage.
James reportedly suffered for two days in the hospital before dying, according to the lawsuit. He had been taking Pradaxa since July 2007 for the treatment of non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
The family seeks compensation for strict products liability, negligence, negligent misrepresentation and/or fraud, breach of implied and express warranties, negligence and fraudulent concealment.
The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court in Philadelphia.
