Due to concerns over diabetes drug Actos’ links to bladder cancer, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is currently performing a five-year study on Actos. For more information about the FDA study and Actos, click here.
Our attorneys are actively involved in Actos litigation and have brought some of the thousands of lawsuits filed across the country involving Actos. Currently, more than 4,500 cases are pending in courts, including in Nevada, Illinois, West Virginia, California, and Pennsylvania.
Sadly, some of these cases involve victims who have died.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the relatives of a man who passed away in Henderson, Nevada recently filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Actos’ manufacturer, Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., accusing it of failing to warn him about the drug’s side effects.
The newspaper reported that Moshe Bitton was diagnosed with recurrent bladder cancer in August 2011 after having ingested Actos for about four years. He died about two years after his diagnosis. Mr. Bitton’s family is seeking unspecified damages.
If you have developed bladder cancer after or while taking Actos, or if your loved one has died, consider pursuing legal action. Our firm represents victims in drug lawsuits and multidistrict litigation (MDL) against negligent manufacturers.
